Wind Band Weekends
Our music weekends are open to all woodwind, brass, string bass and percussion instrumentalists over the age of 18 who have a minimum standard of grade 6/7 or equivalent. Please see below for details:
Our weekends can be booked on either a residential or non-residential basis. For those staying with us, you will arrive during the evening on Friday to settle into your accommodation and then join us for a buffet meal and casual get together. Symphonic band rehearsals commence on Saturday morning and continue throughout the day, with breaks for meals and light refreshments. Non-residential guests have the choice to either arrive on Friday evening for the buffet and to socialise with other musicians, or to join us in time for the first rehearsal on the Saturday morning.
Saturday evening provides the opportunity to take part in smaller ensembles such as wind , brass, saxophone, clarinet ensembles depending on the requirements of our guests and a chance to wind down and relax in the bar or make use of our venue’s leisure facilities.
Sunday sees a similar format with the addition of a run through / informal concert of a selection of the music rehearsed throughout the weekend to an audience of friends and family, before musicians disperse later in the afternoon.

Our rehearsals are intensive yet well structured and engaging. During the weekend there is also the opportunity for leisure activities and meeting new friends.
