Symphonic Wind Band Weekends

under the direction of our distinguished conductor and arranger:

Tom Milford BA (Music) FLCM LRSM MISM

What we do

Our music weekends are open to all woodwind, brass and percussion instrumentalists over the age of 18 who have a minimum standard of grade 6/7 or equivalent.

They can be booked on either a residential or non-residential basis.

For those staying with us, you will arrive during the evening on Friday to settle into your accommodation and then join us for a buffet meal and casual get together. Symphonic band rehearsals commence on Saturday morning and continue throughout the day, with breaks for meals and light refreshments.

Saturday evening provides the opportunity to take part in smaller ensembles such as wind , brass, saxophone, clarinet quintets or quartets depending on the requirements of our guests and a chance to wind down and relax in the bar or make use of our venue’s leisure facilities.

Sunday sees a similar format with the addition of a run through / informal concert of a selection of the music rehearsed throughout the weekend to an audience of friends and family, before musicians disperse later in the afternoon.
