Our Wind Band Workshops are designed to enable your band to rehearse with a professional conductor. Whether for a special event, concert or just for the experience, Tom will visit your band at a venue of your choice and rehearse according to your requirements.

What level does the band have to be?

Tom is happy to conduct any standard of concert band from community level up to advanced. He will tailor his rehearsal to suit the level of players in attendance.

What music will we play?

We can bring our own music for rehearsal purposes and sight reading practice or we can utilise your own music library / concert programme. Or if you prefer, a mixture of both.

What previous workshops have you conducted?

Tom has carried out workshops with several bands in the local area, including most recently Take Note Concert Band, based in Essex and Fenland Music Centre Association, based in Cambridgeshire.

What experience does Tom have?

Tom has many years of professional conducting experience in the military band world, finishing his regular service as bandmaster of the Coldstream Guards. He has subsequently worked with musicians of all ages in Music Service Ensembles, Cadet Bands, Fire Service Bands, RAF Voluntary Bands, Army Reserve Bands and of course our own Captured in Music events. What will the rehearsal schedule be?

The workshops can be for arranged for an evening, a full day or even a weekend. Tom will work around whatever timings are convenient for yourselves, just let us know when you make your enquiry.

How much will it cost?

We charge £40 per hour for Tom’s services plus return travel to your venue @45p per mile. If an overnight stay is required, this would also have to be factored in. A full quote will be provided if you make an enquiry.
